Question 1

What’s the biggest challenge facing the cannabis industry right now, and how are you and/or your company addressing it?

The biggest challenge customers are facing has been banking and loans. Because it is still federally illegal, the industry isn’t able to just open any bank account and get loans for the things they need. We are addressing the lending aspect of it by creating multiple streams of leasing and financing for our equipment. We are building programs with other vendors to service their needs for an easier entry into automation.

Question 2

Where do you see the most exciting opportunity for growth and innovation in cannabis?

The most exciting I’d have to say is going to be in the future of robotics and automation. Cannabis is very behind the regular CPG industry with how they are packaging and processing. I am excited to see that some operators are finally turning their attention to it and finding a better way to streamline their process.

Question 3

What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone looking to break into the cannabis industry?

I would sit them down and tell them they’re crazy! But it’s the crazy ones that end up helping the industry evolve. Cannabis is unlike any other industry out there and it’s a very small industry. The people that are in this space are both crazy and brilliant. To be in this space, you gotta have thick skin. And always remember, it’s a business move not personal move.

Question 4

What is the most important thing you have learned from your experiences in the cannabis industry?

I think I’ve become better being patient. I’ve learned how to be better at explaining and hand holding in this industry.

Question 5

What do you want your legacy to be as it relates to the cannabis industry?

I would like to leave a mark in this industry as someone who has help evolve the cannabis space and help the operators get their products to the shelves. What we do at LeafyPack is making sure our machines are getting products to shelves through speed and efficiency.
