Question 1

What’s the biggest challenge facing the cannabis industry right now, and how are you and/or your company addressing it?

The same challenge that every industry in this country faces- the push for profits at all costs, profits over people. You see this appear in many ways, including: budtender wages and education, medical programs used as trojan horses for legalization and patients ignored, THC potency inflation, faking COAs, lab shopping, poorly made products with research chemicals under the title of cannabinoids – the list goes on.

As a writer, the best way I can address it is to provide accurate customer information and use my platform to highlight products and brands that I use and trust.

Question 2

Where do you see the most exciting opportunity for growth and innovation in cannabis?

Hemp/THCA is interesting, but I am not sure I am ready to jump in and that is the bouncing ball. That said, it may be the path forward in a few states. I think CA ultimately bans it completely

Question 3

What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone looking to break into the cannabis industry?

Put yourself out there, talk to people, join conversations before you feel ready, and be ready to be wrong at some point.

Question 4

What is the most important thing you have learned from your experiences in the cannabis industry?

There is enough money to go around when you work with the right people. Vet people, partners, and clients, carefully and walk away from something when it doesn’t feel right.

Question 5

What do you want your legacy to be as it relates to the cannabis industry?

Someone who used her platform to open doors for other people, champion whole-plant cannabis medicine, and provide scientifically-backed information to fight weed stigma.
