What’s the biggest challenge facing the cannabis industry right now, and how are you and/or your company addressing it?

Additional cost added to tenant improvement and fit out from local and state legislators. I intend to join local groups that advocate for equitable business operations.

Where do you see the most exciting opportunity for growth and innovation in cannabis?

I think consumption lounges are some of the most exciting growth opportunities on the retail side. Vertically integrated business also is interesting as local ownership groups can joint venture larger farms and distribution plants.

What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone looking to break into the cannabis industry?

Get your real estate, legal, and construction team built with people who understand those verticals. It is a long road that will test your patience.

What is the most important thing you have learned from your experiences in the cannabis industry?

It is not very different on the local level than any other industry. People want to own their time and make something they are proud of. Legalized cannabis affords many people a new industry to do that in.

What do you want your legacy to be as it relates to the cannabis industry?

I want to provide pathways for business owners to achieve their own dreams.
