Los Angeles, CA. Some food collaborations make immediate sense. Others make you stop for a second and ask who came up with this idea.

A cinnamon roll bakery and one of the most recognizable pizza brands in the country combining forces definitely lands in the second category.

But All About the Cinnamon and Prince St. Pizza may have found something in that unexpected collision.

Beginning September 4, the two Los Angeles favorites are launching “The Prince,” a limited-edition savory pizza bun made with All About the Cinnamon’s signature handcrafted roll dough and the familiar flavors of Prince St. Pizza. The collaboration will be available through September 27 in limited quantities.

When Pizza Meets Cinnamon Roll Dough

The concept starts with the dough All About the Cinnamon normally uses to build its small-batch cinnamon rolls. Instead of going sweet, the bakery takes that soft dough in an entirely different direction.

For The Prince, it gets layered with Prince St. Pizza’s marinara and fresh mozzarella, with a pepperoni version featuring the brand’s recognizable crispy, cupped-and-charred pepperoni. Each pizza bun also comes with Prince St.’s housemade marinara for dipping.

On paper, pizza and cinnamon roll dough might sound like two foods that should stay on opposite sides of the menu.

That was our first thought too.

Beard Bros Media co-founder Bill Levers had the opportunity to try the collaboration before launch, along with products from both brands individually.

“When I first heard they were putting pizza ingredients into cinnamon roll dough, I honestly wasn’t sure if I was going to like it,” said Levers. “But after trying it, it really works. The dough has that soft texture you want from a fresh cinnamon roll, while the sauce, cheese and pepperoni take it completely into savory territory. I wasn’t sure what to expect going in, but the combination goes together surprisingly well.”

And maybe that uncertainty is part of what makes the collaboration interesting.

Two Very Different LA Food Followings Collide

All About the Cinnamon is a family-owned Sherman Oaks bakery founded by Lindsay and Lawrence Sears-McDonald. The company has built a following around handcrafted cinnamon rolls, rotating flavors and a connection to hip-hop culture that runs through its branding and products.

Prince St. Pizza comes from a very different food tradition.

Founded in New York City’s Nolita neighborhood in 2012, Prince St. became known for its Sicilian-style squares, particularly its Spicy Spring featuring those signature pepperoni cups. The company expanded into Los Angeles in 2019 and today operates locations across the United States and Canada.

That difference is what makes The Prince more interesting than simply putting two logos on a box.

Each company brought something immediately recognizable to the finished product. All About the Cinnamon supplies the dough and roll format. Prince St. supplies the pizza DNA.

It is also a good example of what brand collaborations can look like when the actual product gets as much attention as the announcement.

There is no shortage of limited-edition collaborations designed primarily to generate social media impressions. The better ones give people something they genuinely haven’t had before.

A pizza bun built from cinnamon roll dough certainly checks that box.

Where to Get The Prince

The Prince will be available September 4 through September 27, 2026, with fresh quantities produced throughout the collaboration and sold while supplies last.

Customers can find it Friday through Sunday beginning at 10 a.m. at All About the Cinnamon, 4341 Van Nuys Blvd. in Sherman Oaks, as well as Sundays at the Prince St. Pizza booth at the Studio City Farmers Market.

Two versions will be offered:

Cheese: $11

Pepperoni: $12

Prince St. Pizza’s Not Ranch can be added for $2.50. Each purchase also includes a buy-one-get-one slice coupon redeemable at the Prince St. Pizza Studio City location at 12067 Ventura Place.

For anyone still wondering whether pizza belongs inside cinnamon roll dough, there is really only one reasonable way to settle the argument.

Try it.
