Rick Simpson vs. the World: How RSO Transformed Medicine

Rick Simpson Oil, also known as RSO, is a cannabis extract that has gained popularity for its revolutionary medicinal benefits. The cannabis oil is named after Rick Simpson, a Canadian engineer and medical cannabis activist who claimed that the oil helped him treat his skin cancer. Although not all of Simpson’s claims have been substantiated, the full extract cannabis oil remains a popular choice for medical marijuana patients.

What Is Rick Simpson Oil?

Rick Simpson Oil, or RSO, is a full-spectrum cannabis oil that contains all the beneficial compounds of the plant. It was also one of the first cannabis oils used in a modern-day medicinal context. Rick Simpson himself was a skin cancer patient who, according to him, cured his own skin cancer with cannabis.

He had long known the benefits of cannabis and used it to treat other ailments in the past, and by a stroke of pure genius, he thought that cannabis oils could be used to treat cancer. So, he used it as a salve, and to the surprise of his own doctor, the cannabis extract treatment had successfully gotten rid of the cancerous growths.

Simpson began producing the RSO and illegally selling it to other cancer patients. He continued this practice for years, helping many cancer patients deal with radiation therapy, suppress cancer growth, and improve various medical conditions. That is until the Royal Canadian Mounted Police raided his home. Fortunately for Simpson and other patients, cannabis was soon after legalized across Canada, and medical patients can more easily access an RSO treatment plan than ever before.

Rick Simpson’s story was an inspiring one. Now, it’s touted as a holy grail amongst medical patients, claiming it can slow cancer cell proliferation, suppress tumor growth, and alleviate chronic pain. RSO is now among the most popular experimental cancer treatments available and also the most popular full-spectrum extract on the market.

The Medical Benefits Of Cannabis

Cannabis has become a trusted daily medication for millions worldwide, treating various conditions like chronic pain, epilepsy, and even some cancers.

Cannabis is also known to have anti-cancer agents, and early research has shown that cannabinoids like CBD and THC can slow (and stop) the growth of cancer cells.

How Much Rick Simpson Oil should I Take?

The dosage of Rick Simpson Oil can vary depending on the individual’s tolerance and medical condition. It’s recommended to start with a small dose and gradually increase it until the desired effect is achieved. It’s important to consult with a healthcare professional to determine the appropriate dosage for your specific needs.

This way, you can get the healing benefits of cannabis without accidentally getting too high, and yes, you can get high on RSO; think of it as a holistic edible; we will bring that up later!

Rick Simpson Oil Capsules And Dosage Charts For Treating Cancer

This oil is available in many different forms, including capsules. The benefit of RSO capsules is that they provide a consistent dose, making it easier to regulate consumption. Dosage charts for cancer patients are also available online, but, as stated previously, you have to consult with a healthcare provider before starting any new treatment.

Consumption methods

If you want to enjoy the benefits of a full spectrum cannabis oil, you can try multiple different consumption methods.

Oral Consumption of Rick Simpson Oil

One of the simplest and most common ways to consume RSO is by ingesting it orally by placing a small amount of cannabis oil under the tongue, mixing it with food or drink or filling empty gel caps with desired amount of oil if the taste is not to your liking.

The effects of oral consumption can take up to an hour or more to be felt but can last several hours.

Vaporizing Rick Simpson Oil

Vaporizing Rick Simpson Oil is another method of consumption that provides a more immediate onset of effects. This can be done using a vaporizer or putting oil on or in a joint. The peak effects typically occur within a few minutes and last for a shorter duration. Using caution with this method is important, as vaporizing RSO can have strong effects and require a lower dosage than other methods.

We would like to note that clean, completely purged of all residual solvents RSO, is safe to smoke. Although it is not a desirable extract if you’re looking for the best smoking taste. For smoking, hydrocarbon and mechanical separation extraction methods are superior in taste.

Making Cannabis-Infused Edibles With Rick Simpson Oil

RSO is used to make cannabis-infused edibles by mixing them with carrier oil such as coconut oil or butter. You can then use the infused oil in recipes to make baked goods or other food items.

Topical Application Of Rick Simpson Oil

RSO can also be applied topically for localized relief of pain and inflammation. It can be mixed with a carrier oil or cream and applied directly to the skin. However, it’s important to note that the effects of topical RSO are typically limited to the area where it is used and do not provide systemic effects like oral or vaporized consumption.

Where Can I Buy Rick Simpson Oil?

If you’re looking to buy Rick Simpson Oil, several options are available. In the United States, it is available in states where medical or recreational marijuana is legal. Set out to only purchase RSO from reputable sources to ensure quality, reliability, and safety. In Canada, you can purchase it through licensed agents authorized by the government to sell cannabis products, including RSO, to medical patients.

Can I Make Rick Simpson Oil?

Rick Simpson himself DIYed this concentrate, so if you’re looking for RSO in your area and can’t find it, you can actually make it at home with a few everyday household items.

Making RSO can be dangerous, so do your research and be sure to follow all necessary safety precautions.

Rick Simpsons original method used Naphtha or Isopropal alcohol. We do not recommend these two solvents for RSO. Using industrial food grade 200 proof ethanol or a high proof grain alcohol from a liquor store are preferable.

Grind a large quantity of cannabis flower and soak it in high-proof alcohol until the cannabinoids dissolve. Much of the info you will find online will tell you to soak cannabis in solvent for days, even weeks, this is unnecessary. Fifteen minutes to several hours, if you so choose, is plenty to dissolve all medical constituents into the alcohol. You can help this process by gently mixing cannabis in alcohol, but not to much or you will be incorporating plant material and chlorophyl into your oil.

Then strain the mixture through a coffee filter to remove any plant material. Afterward, use a rice cooker to evaporate the alcohol, leaving a thick, tar-like substance rich in cannabinoids.

Finally, extract the oil and store it in a glass container, labeling it with the date and strain used. You can use a similar method to make a RSO cannabis tincture. Remember that the oil’s potency can vary, so start with a small amount and work your way up gradually.

RSO is a popular choice among medical marijuana patients for a good reason – it can provide numerous potential benefits. However, as with any new treatment, it’s critical to research and consult an expert before diving in. Rick Simpson’s cannabis oil has been touted as an effective treatment for many, but it’s important to remember that we’re only in the early research stage.

While it can offer a world of possibilities, you must also consider potential risks and side effects to ensure you’re getting the best experience possible, purchase from reputable sources, and start with a small dose. With these tips in mind, you’re ready to embark on your RSO journey with confidence and ease. Stay lifted, and stay safe!
