International Cannabis Business Conference (ICBC) Leads the Way in Mainstreaming the Global Cannabis Industry

In a recent interview on Travel Tuesday, part of the Beard Bros Media Network, Alex Rogers, CEO and Executive Producer of ICBC, shared his journey in the cannabis industry and the vision behind creating the International Cannabis Business Conference. As a magna cum laude graduate in political science and a seasoned cannabis professional, Rogers has played a key role in professionalizing and mainstreaming the industry.

Rogers’ introduction to the cannabis industry began in the early 1990s under the tutelage of Jack Herrera, a renowned activist. Through his work with Herrera, Rogers met influential figures such as Dennis Perrone, Ed Rosenthal, and Debbie Goldsberry, which ultimately led to his involvement in the Cannabis Action Network and the Hemp Expo. His experience in the industry has equipped him with a deep understanding of the emerging global cannabis and hemp market.

The cannabis industry has undergone significant transformations since the early days of activism. Rogers believes that the narrative of cannabis legalization has shifted from a human rights perspective to an economic viability aspect. While this shift has contributed to the advancement of policy, Rogers emphasizes the importance of revisiting the human rights aspect of cannabis and recognizing its potential to promote sustainability, community, and diversity.

As the founder of ICBC, Rogers aimed to create an international platform for the cannabis industry to converge and discuss the latest developments, trends, and innovations. ICBC is now regarded as the leading B2B cannabis industry conference series in Europe, with events held in multiple countries. Attendees of ICBC Berlin, scheduled for April next year, can expect to find a curated experience that showcases the intersection of cannabis with various industries, including tourism, hospitality, and entertainment.

The rise of cannabis tourism has created new opportunities for businesses and entrepreneurs to offer unique experiences, such as curated flights, tastings, and samplings. ICBC provides a platform for industry professionals to network, learn, and explore the vast potential of the cannabis market. With the global travel economy accounting for 10.2% of the world’s GDP, the cannabis industry is poised to become a significant player in the tourism sector.

Rogers’ vision for ICBC is to facilitate a global conversation about the cannabis industry, focusing on its economic, social, and environmental implications. As the industry continues to evolve, ICBC remains at the forefront, providing a platform for innovators, policymakers, and entrepreneurs to shape the future of the cannabis industry. By attending ICBC Berlin, attendees can gain valuable insights into the latest trends, network with industry leaders, and explore the vast potential of the cannabis market.
