Question 1

What’s the biggest challenge facing the cannabis industry right now, and how are you and/or your company addressing it?

So many challenges- it’s hard to pick just one…widespread misinformation, lack of scientific integrity, and the fact that cannabis as a crop is still largely immature despite its importance. From inflated potency labels to myths about genetics and cultivation, the industry has a credibility problem. My work focuses on bringing science, transparency, and accountability through education, research, and initiatives like True Cut (IP protection for breeders) and CannaGen (a centralized, accessible, and affordable platform for licensed breeders and nurseries to connect with cultivators). I hope to help build the infrastructure to ensure that what’s being sold is actually what it claims to be, and to create meaningful protections for breeders where few currently exist, all while being heavily involved in education.

Question 2

Where do you see the most exciting opportunity for growth and innovation in cannabis?

Genetics of course! We’ve barely scratched the surface of what this plant can do. Between minor cannabinoids, fiber potential, seed nutrition, and true cultivar development, there’s a ton of room to innovate if we move past the hype and start working with real data and validated plant lines. Also the intersection of science and consumer education- that’s where trust and transformation can really thrive.

Question 3

What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone looking to break into the cannabis industry?

Check your ego at the door, stay humble, and keep learning. Shut your mouth, and open your ears- there are so many knowledgeable people in this industry with a wealth of knowledge tucked away. If you think you know shit, you don’t know shit. Also, find your people and make sure they are good people. Collaboration over competition is the way forward- we need to work together, especially if we want to build something that lasts and mover this industry forward. Right now it’s al lot of infighting (hemp vs “cannabis”, science vs industry, legacy vs noobs, pineapple doesn’t go on pizza etc etc)

Question 4

What is the most important thing you have learned from your experiences in the cannabis industry?

So many important things!

No one has any money.

It takes time to build trust, and trust is easily lost.

Secrets do make friends.

Shut your mouth and open your ears.

If you think you know shit, you don’t know shit.

Dunning-Krueger is real.

Question 5

What do you want your legacy to be as it relates to the cannabis industry?

I want to be remembered as someone who showed up for the plant and the people. As someone who used science and education to build bridges, protect breeders, keep consumers safe, and who challenged bullshit and misinformation.
