What’s the biggest challenge facing the cannabis industry right now, and how are you and/or your company addressing it?

The biggest problem as I see it it that everyone wants to be the biggest but not the best. Cannabis has been the best decentralized business model in the world for decades. I address it by doing my best to highlight smaller farms, locally owned dispensaries, and community organizations.

Where do you see the most exciting opportunity for growth and innovation in cannabis?

Seeds and Pre rolls although I think flowers are making a comeback and infused beverages will continue to grow. I also see ancillary (non plant touching) businesses taking off. Also canna tourism is booming.

What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone looking to break into the cannabis industry?

If you are a suit, get some hippies on your team.

If you are a hippie, find some suits to work with.

If you need to fill out a bunch of forms, hire a Virgo or a German. German Virgos are the best.

What is the most important thing you have learned from your experiences in the cannabis industry?

We are all (including me) a little bit crazy. You need a strong individualist streak to think you can take on federal governments and win. Sometimes it’s hard for people in this industry to be teammates

What do you want your legacy to be as it relates to the cannabis industry?

Just let them know I helped to spread the food word about hemp and brought a few smiles along the way.
