From the outside looking in, Kathleen Saucerman appeared to have it all: she was highly educated, had a husband, kids, career, and a place among her peers in the community. In reality, she was losing her grip on the entire facade, sliding down a slippery mental and physical slope as her abusive marriage eroded, trying to keep it all patched together with a slew of doctor-prescribed pharmaceuticals she came to call the “Divorce Cocktail” – a dangerous blend of benzos, SSRIs, and sleep aids.

That cocktail of pills, with conflicting and compounding side effects swirling among them, did not save her marriage, and certainly did not heal the root causes of her mental anguish. It did, however, lead to a diagnosis of Small Fiber Neuropathy for which the docs recommended… You guessed it, more pharmaceuticals.
Instead, Kathleen went a different direction. South, to be precise, to Ecuador, to seek out the answers that couldn’t be found at a pharmacy.
Detoxing cold turkey from the “Divorce Cocktail” (imagine 10-12 pills daily while raising two kids and juggling two jobs), this sales guru by day and single mom by night took the trip alone, finding a place in Ayahuasca and San Pedro ceremonies that proved to be life-changing.
