What inspired you to create The BednBong Experience? 

“The inspiration began with my 420 B&B in Los Angeles when cannabis was legalized in California. Even though cannabis was legal, many ‘friendly’ spaces felt like afterthoughts. When COVID hit, I came to Puerto Rico seeking something more peaceful. Through my podcast The BednBong Experience with former guest Black Cherry, I realized the full branding potential. I didn’t want to just create a space where cannabis use was allowed. My goal is to build a sanctuary, a high-end, soulful experience where cannabis is integrated into wellness, joy, and personal freedom.” 

How did you approach designing truly elevated cannabis hospitality? 

“From day one, I wanted The BednBong Experience to feel intentional, not like an afterthought. Every room, every touchpoint was designed with elevation in mind. Whether it’s our infused welcome amenities, curated wellness sessions, or the open-air consumption zones overlooking the ocean, I’ve made it a point to normalize and celebrate cannabis as part of a broader lifestyle rooted in joy, healing, and freedom.” 

Why Puerto Rico specifically? 

“Puerto Rico is magic. It’s not just the beaches or the rainforest, it’s the rhythm of the culture, the spirituality in the land, the blend of African, Indigenous, and Caribbean influence. There’s a sacredness here that you can feel in the ocean breeze. Puerto Rico gives you permission to slow down and reconnect. One of the first things that made me fall in love was hearing locals say ‘¡Buen provecho!’ to complete strangers. Then I noticed cannabis users here were offering that same blessing to fellow patients and smokers. That showed me the contagious kindness rooted in this island’s culture.” 

What’s next for BednBong? 

“This is just the beginning. Right now, this phase is our ‘sandbox’, like a pilot program. We’re curating experiences for visitors and locals. With over 340 dispensaries on the island, we want to reward the cannabis community with authentic, elevated experiences created for cannabis lovers, by cannabis lovers. I’m collaborating with a local master grower for canna-curated workshops focused on education and cultivation. We’re partnering with retreat leaders for immersive experiences. Beginning this fall, we’ll offer Love Commitment Ceremonies for couples. Long term, I envision breaking ground on a luxury cannabis resort focused on holistic and spiritual healing.”
