Cody Cecil Needs Your Help

Write a letter to the Judge asking him to be lenient on Cody’s Cecil’s sentence, or come to court support!

Cody faces serious charges in West Virginia for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and cultivation of marijuana. He is facing 2-10 years in prison! These charges stem from a December 2021 incident where police illegally raided his camper. They found cannabis plants and related items in his vehicle along with some gummies, RSO, and some cannabis. His story went viral with almost 200,000 views! You can view the raid and learn more about his story by visiting https://youtu.be/oJsvvQwAIE4?si=RMnLp05iHhAdf_FQ.

Given the potential severity of the charges, Cody is seeking your help. He will be sentenced on July 2, 2024, at 9:00 AM! You can write a letter to Judge Ferguson requesting leniency in sentencing, sign his change.org petition, and attend his court hearing if you are located near West Virginia.

Here is some helpful information you can use to write your letter:

  • Address your letter to Judge Alfred E. Ferguson, 750 5th Ave #217 Huntington WV 25701
  • Attention: Case #22-f-221
  • Cody is non-violent.
  • Ask the judge to be lenient on Cody’s sentence and ask for him to give him probation.
  • Cody is the sole provider and caregiver for his mother, pregnant fiancé, and children.
  • Coy is a father of two autistic sons and has a child on the way.
  • Cody is well respected within his community and provides education about consumption methods, cultivation techniques, genetics, and agriculture equipment sourcing to those in need! He also teaches cannabis education outreach by providing sobriety plans, educational classes, and information to help his community.
  • Cannabis is legal in one way or another in 47 states, including West Virginia.
  • No one should be incarcerated for cannabis, it’s a plant, not a crime.
  • If you need help with an opening line to your letter, you can say something like: ‘I am politely asking you to be lenient on Cody’s sentence….’ ‘Please grant Cody time served or the least amount of time possible….’ ‘Cody is non-violent and should not receive a lengthy sentence for cannabis…..’
  • You can include facts regarding the science of cannabis, its medical value, and the current state of cannabis laws.
  • You can include anything in your letter to the judge that you think might help Cody get sentenced to less time.

When you are finished writing your letter, we suggest that you:

  • Mail your letter to the judge, and email it to Cody at codycecil@outlook.com
