The race to the bottom on pricing and hype-driven branding is eroding consumer trust. Too many brands promise more than they deliver. At Exclusive, we’re flipping that script by placing quality, transparency, and consistency at the center of everything we do. We educate our consumers and buyers so they know exactly what they’re getting (and our budtenders so they know exactly what they’re selling) and why it’s worth it.

Where do you see the most exciting opportunity for growth and innovation in cannabis?

The real opportunity is in building brands that can outlast trends. That means premium genetics, solventless extracts, and retail experiences that feel as elevated as shopping for fine wine. We’re also investing in technology that verifies authenticity and tells the full story behind every product, because for us, the future is about transparency.

What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone looking to break into the cannabis industry?

Don’t chase trends, chase truth. Build something authentic, sustainable, and rooted in the culture. Learn the plant, learn the market, and respect the regulations. This is no longer a side hustle; the consumer is smarter now and expects you to be an expert.

What is the most important thing you have learned from your experiences in the cannabis industry?

Hype fades, but quality lasts. The brands that win are the ones that deliver on their promises, adapt to change, and value real relationships. I’ve found that this industry rewards authenticity above all else.

What do you want your legacy to be as it relates to the cannabis industry?

That I helped raise the bar for quality and transparency in cannabis. That Exclusive became known as the brand delivering the real thing in Michigan. No gimmicks, no shortcuts. And that my work helped shift the culture from hype-driven to quality-driven.
