What’s the biggest challenge facing the cannabis industry right now, and how are you and/or your company addressing it?
As cannabis becomes more normalized every day you will begin to see a shift towards more health conscious consumption. Peelz is betting on this shift by working to develop our line of fruit wraps that give the same experience as a tobacco blunt but without tobacco, nicotine, or any additives for any reason.
Where do you see the most exciting opportunity for growth and innovation in cannabis?
Honestly I think the edible market is really exciting. With people moving away from smoking even in our industry it opens the door for a lot of innovation and differentiation in the edible space. People have a lot of different tastes and it’s going to be interesting to see what brands begin to do in that space.
What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone looking to break into the cannabis industry?
If I had to give someone a piece of advice i would say develop your skills and experience under someone or as part of a team where you can learn everyday. This industry is changing rapidly in every state and different corner of the market. You don’t want to be asleep at the wheel. Stay on top of trends and regulations and if you find a gap in the market fill it.
What is the most important thing you have learned from your experiences in the cannabis industry?
The biggest thing I have learned through my experience in the cannabis industry is it’s not always about the product but rather the systems built around it. You have to really have a product that stands out or have killer systems in place to truly be successful.
What do you want your legacy to be as it relates to the cannabis industry?
I just want to be known as a guy that came into the industry with some cool ideas, made some dope products, and treated everybody with love and respect.
