What’s the biggest challenge facing the cannabis industry right now, and how are you and/or your company addressing it?

One of the biggest challenges facing the cannabis industry right now is the financial squeeze created by 280E and limited access to banking. Between high taxes, compliance costs, and the inability to take standard deductions, many cannabis operators struggle to generate sustainable cash flow, even when sales are strong.

At Dope CFO, we’re tackling that challenge head-on by helping cannabis CEOs gain clarity, compliance, and control over their numbers. We build proper cost accounting under IRC 471, structure clean financials that stand up to scrutiny, and deliver the financial visibility leaders need to make smart decisions in a restrictive environment.

My goal is to free cannabis CEOs from financial chaos so they can focus on scaling their business, even in one of the toughest regulatory landscapes in the country.

I’m excited by vertical integration done right and brand differentiation at the cultivation and product level.

What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone looking to break into the cannabis industry?

As someone who’s newer to the cannabis industry, my biggest piece of advice is to approach it with equal parts curiosity, humility, and professionalism. Cannabis is unlike any other industry, the rules are constantly evolving, and success depends on your willingness to learn and adapt.

What is the most important thing you have learned from your experiences in the cannabis industry?

Even in a short time, I’ve seen how hard cannabis operators work to build compliant, purpose-driven businesses in one of the most complex regulatory environments out there. It’s taught me the value of meeting clients where they are, helping them translate their vision into sound financial systems.

What do you want your legacy to be as it relates to the cannabis industry?

My goal in the cannabis industry is twofold: to grow my business and to be recognized as a thought-leader who brings real, tangible value to my clients.

I want to help cannabis CEOs not just survive in a complex regulatory environment, but thrive with clarity, confidence, and sustainable financial strategies. By sharing insights, best practices, and practical solutions, I hope to elevate the industry as a whole, showing that professionalism and profitability can go hand-in-hand with passion and purpose.
