One of the biggest challenges in cannabis retail today is balancing strict compliance with rising labor costs and the complexity of managing IT environments—all while trying to deliver a smooth customer experience.
Where do you see the most exciting opportunity for growth and innovation in cannabis?
The biggest opportunity is in technology that makes dispensaries more efficient and consumer-focused. From self-service kiosks to unified digital infrastructure, innovation that lowers labor costs, simplifies IT, and enhances the shopping journey is where we see real growth ahead
What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone looking to break into the cannabis industry?
Stay adaptable. Cannabis is one of the fastest-changing industries out there—regulations, consumer expectations, and technology all evolve quickly. If you come in with an open mind, a willingness to learn, and a focus on solving real problems for operators and consumers, you’ll find your place.
What is the most important thing you have learned from your experiences in the cannabis industry?
The most important thing I’ve learned is that no two dispensaries are the same. Each state, market, and operator has unique challenges, so a one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t work. Success comes from listening, adapting, and building solutions that meet operators where they are.
What do you want your legacy to be as it relates to the cannabis industry?
I want Dispensify’s legacy—and mine—to be about raising the standard for cannabis retail. By simplifying technology and focusing on the consumer journey, we aim to help dispensaries operate more efficiently, stay compliant, and create experiences that feel as polished as any mainstream retailer.
