Connect. Inspire. Learn.
That’s the heartbeat of the Women in Cannabis Expo (WICE), returning this August to Reno, Nevada. Over two impactful days, the event brings together a powerhouse lineup of entrepreneurs, executives, activists, and visionaries all working to grow something bigger than just business.
For Beard Bros Pharms and Media, this event aligns with everything we stand for: authenticity, education, and accountability in cannabis culture. It’s why we’re headed to the Women in Cannabis Expo and why we’re leaning in to support the people and platforms driving progress in this space.
The Women in Cannabis Expo: More Than an Event
Run by Founder and Owner, Brooke Westlake, the Women in Cannabis Expo was created to amplify the voices and value women bring to the cannabis industry. With stops in cities like Las Vegas, San Francisco, Denver, and Reno, the expo has become a must-attend gathering for those looking to build real networks and drive change from within.
Unlike standard expos that often focus on sales pitches and surface-level connections, the Women in Cannabis Expo centers on meaningful dialogue, real resources, and strategic partnerships. The result is a space that fuels innovation and opens doors, especially for those who have historically been excluded from boardrooms and budgets.
Through keynotes, panel discussions, and annual award ceremony with network mixer, the expo has built a reputation for being welcoming, empowering, and genuinely impactful. The growth has been excellent. For example, this year, they are handing out 66 different awards!
Main Stage Panel: Beyond the Buzzwords
On Day One, Beard Bros Pharms and Media’s Chief Revenue Officer, Brian Holler will take the stage as a featured speaker during the “Beyond the Buzzwords” panel. Held on the main stage from 10:10 to 10:40 am, this session will explore how overused language in cannabis often masks a lack of real action and what leaders can do to build substance behind the slogans.
Joining Brian are:
- Laurie Parfitt, CEO and Founder of LKP Impact Consulting
- Kim Prince, CEO and Founder of Proven Media
- Rachel Wright, CEO and Founder of Verdant Strategies
The panel will be moderated by Christine Gamez, Manager and Buyer for PureTonic Dispensary and Co-Founder of IXVV Solutions. Together, the group will peel back the layers of terms like “equity” and “authenticity” to explore what it really means to lead with integrity in this industry.
When buzzwords start to lose their meaning, it takes brave voices to set the record straight.
Why We’re Involved
Our roots run deep in cannabis culture, from legacy cultivation to policy advocacy to media with a mission. Over the years, we’ve built a brand that uplifts the people behind the plant, especially those doing the hard work without the headlines. That’s what drew us to the Women in Cannabis Expo.
This event isn’t about ego or posturing. It’s about impact.
At Beard Bros Pharms and Media, we’re constantly seeking spaces where real conversations happen. WICE offers that. Whether it’s showcasing emerging brands, discussing legislative challenges, or hosting panels that push back on performative leadership, WICE creates a stage for truth and transformation.

From the Roots to the Rooftops
Our journey as a company started with soil-stained hands and a commitment to doing things the right way, even when it wasn’t the easy way. Today, as we expand across states and services, that same integrity drives everything we do, from our product line and advocacy work to our media network and industry partnerships.
We’re proud to be part of a new wave in cannabis. One that doesn’t rely on flash or corporate spin to make a mark. Instead, we aim to amplify stories that matter, support businesses that care, and build systems that actually work.
The Women in Cannabis Expo is part of that bigger picture. It’s proof that when we listen, learn, and lead together, everyone grows.
