This past Halloween, Beard Bros Pharms paired our highly potent award-winning RSO products with one of the coolest experiences in Massachusetts, The Herbal Creative, for a cannabis-infused culinary throwdown with a distinctly Dominican flare.
Chef Nick E. founded The Herbal Creative in March of 2021 and has since hosted dozens of privately hosted and publicly ticketed events centered around feeding people dank food and dank weed in a safe, portion-and-potency controlled set and setting, so the canna-collab with Beard Bros Pharms made perfect sense.
Utilizing deep, richly colored and flavored ingredients like beets, cabbages, and even squid ink to play off of the spooky season of Halloween, nearly two dozen guests were recently treated to a multicourse meal featuring mouthwatering plates like a Short Rib Groutin dish with Beard Bros Pharms RSO emulsified into the beef fat then emulsified into the braising liquid. Holy smokes, that sounds amazing!
Each course for this epic meal played perfectly off of Chef Nick’s Central American heritage, both in flavor and in culture, as he made sure to incorporate some mindbending Dominican folklore into the mix. For example, his pastry chef Lionheart Confections (@lionheartconfections) crafted desserts for the Halloween event that represented the Ciguapa, a mythological creature from Dominican Republic spooky stories that is said to live in the mountains and forests and move around on backward-facing feet. *CHOMP* deeeeelicious!
Add a live DJ and a dab bar hosted by certified Ganjier Charles Stockstill (@the.oldmanofthemountain) and you can see why the calendar fills up fast for The Herbal Creative events.
This semi-exclusive event was made possible by the grassroots relationships that Chef Nick and the Beard Bros share with Matt Besonen of United Cultivation, but Chef Nick has been cooking up cannabis ideas for years and is a regular attendee of high level networking events like NECANN and MJBizCon.
Chef Nick E.’s Culinary Roots Run Deep
Growing up in a traditional Dominican family in the suburbs outside of Boston, meals were a big deal, as was time around the table, and everything was homecooked.
Like most teens growing up in that era, Nick’s parents worked full time jobs, leaving the house empty most of the day and providing a perfect refuge for Nick and his toked up homies after school. Well, almost perfect… You see, there were no snacks. No Little Debbies. No Entemanns. No Ruffles. No nothin. So, from that young age, and inspired by a lifetime of savory plates, Nick found himself taking great joy in whipping up a snack from scratch for the boys.
He took his first real kitchen job right out of high school, and the rest is the future of blending cannabis and cuisine.
Chef Nick’s company, The Herbal Creative, provides the perfect alcohol alternative for anywhere from small, intimate house parties, to full blown publicly ticketed events. Nick has mastered the art of infusing cannabis into all types of foods to not only enhance flavor, but to provide a measured, strategic dose of cannabinoids for optimal effects for all types of consumers.
With an emphasis on safety – both at the events and on the way home – the multicourse format allows Chef Nick to ramp the potency of each subsequent dish either up or down to accommodate the current crowd and their tolerance levels. He can even prepare the same exact meal both with and without cannabis infusion so that those who don’t want or need to consume cannabis (like minors at a private house party, for example) can still take part in the festivities.
The Herbal Creative offers a full spectrum of infused experiences and opportunities in addition to their catering and party planning experience.
Their “Hot Box” offering allows YOU to prepare a perfectly portioned beautiful home cooked meal in 30 minutes or less, with chef curated instructions for any kitchen. In preparing your ingredients, the chef will accommodate all dietary restrictions, and create something that is unique to your preference and lifestyle. Then you bring it to life when the time is right!
Similarly, the ‘Kithcen Academy’ offers in-person or virtually-attended cooking clinics where both chef and students will span culinary disciplines and cultural cuisines, helping you build a foundation of cooking and cannabis infusion skills that you can utilize to impress anyone.
