During our recent visit to Palm Springs for Coachella Valley Canna-Week, we couldn’t resist making a stop at the iconic Trio Restaurant. Coachella Valley Canna-Week is a premier celebration of cannabis culture, bringing together industry leaders, local businesses, and the community to spotlight the cannabis scene in the region.

This event welcomed everyone, from the canna-curious to seasoned enthusiasts, with immersive experiences showcasing the best of cannabis tourism, innovation, and craftsmanship. Amidst all the excitement, Trio stood out as the perfect place to relax and refuel, offering a memorable dining experience that complemented the spirit of Canna-Week.

Nestled in the heart of Palm Springs’ Uptown Design District, Trio Restaurant stands as a testament to the vibrant spirit of the community. Established in 2009 by Chicago native Tony Marchese, Trio has seamlessly blended mid-century modern design with contemporary California cuisine, creating a space where locals and visitors alike can come together to enjoy exceptional food and warm hospitality.

​Adjacent to Trio Restaurant, at 745 N Palm Canyon Drive, is The Shag Store, the world’s first retail boutique and gallery dedicated solely to the art of Josh Agle, known as Shag. Established in 2009, this vibrant space showcases Shag’s mid-century modern-inspired artwork, offering visitors a chance to immerse themselves in the playful and nostalgic aesthetic that complements the Palm Springs experience.

Set in the iconic 1953 Turonnet building, designed by renowned architects John Porter Clark and Albert Frey, Trio’s ambiance pays homage to Palm Springs’ rich architectural history. The recent 2023 refresh has introduced a sophisticated, modern design paired with a chef-driven, seasonally inspired menu that reflects Tony’s passion for exceptional dining experiences.

The menu at Trio is a celebration of California’s diverse culinary landscape. From starters like house-made biscuits with white cheddar and Old Bay seasoning to mains such as torchietto pasta with baby heirloom tomatoes and spinach in a lemon garlic sauce, each dish is crafted with fresh, local ingredients. The restaurant also offers a variety of vegetarian and gluten-free options, ensuring that every guest can find something to delight their palate. ​
