UN Regenerative Cannabis Event Put On By Hawthorne

regenerative cannabis event hawthorne

The multi-stakeholder cannabis event aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It is said to be intended to provide solution-based views on complex and vital issues affecting the cannabis and hemp industries worldwide. This event will be held today, May 5th, in New York City and will be live-streamed for those who can’t make it.

Regennabis CEO Patrick McCartan stated that the event is a “full-house” and that they are delighted to open the event to as many people as possible through the live stream. Additionally, McCartan has said that the event has been met with an overwhelming response on issues such as the necessity to democratize opportunities in the cannabis industry as well as increase and promote innovation in services, products, and the industry as a whole.

What Is Regenerative Farming in Cannabis?

Before we dive into the specifics of the event, we’d like to go over regenerative farming for those who don’t know about this cannabis-growing practice.

Planting hemp plants in their natural soil outdoors and rejuvenating the soil off-season with microorganisms, compost, and animal droppings from the same area or farm with very few external inputs is regenerative farming. This farming method can increase biodiversity and soil health, improve water retention, lower climate change impacts, expenditures, and time spent, and produce cannabis with better flavors and aromas.

Event Agenda

The event opens at 7 am, with the first session beginning at 8 am. There will be a variety of panels, keynote speakers, breaks (and networking opportunities), wrap-ups for the different sessions, and a lunch at 2 pm. The Regenerative Cannabis Event will conclude at 5:30 pm. The full schedule is available on the event website

Among the authentic, solution- and action-based topics that will be discussed are recreational adult-use cannabis as well as medical, health, and wellness cannabis. There will also be discussions centred around industrial hemp that is matched to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are divided into three categories: economic, social, and environmental.

The Regenerative Cannabis Live conference, in collaboration with Hawthorne Gardening Company and Media Sourcery, brings together an ecosystem of action-oriented leadership from Corporations, Governments, Investors, Media, Civil Society & NGOs, as well as Influencers from the Arts & Entertainment world.

Hawthorne has stated that the event intends to bring together multiple perspectives on the topic of regenerative farming, pool their resources and influence and truly bring about change and advancement for regenerative farming in the cannabis industry. However, Hawthorne Gardening is not known for its regenerative farming practices, so there is some speculation about Hawthorne’s true intentions for hosting this event. Nevertheless, it is sure to be a largely eye-opening and informative event for all regenerative farmers, so be sure to register for the event here!

Regardless of Hawthorne Gardening Company’s intentions in hosting the event, we’re sure it is going to be extremely valuable in getting more farmers involved in the process as well as making regenerative farming a more widely used and talked-about process in the cannabis industry. Make sure to do your part and register for the event here.
