In an engaging episode of Some Guys Talking, Milica Radovic Mandic, co-founder of Bizdelics and a prominent figure in the psychedelic community, shared insights on the upcoming Global Psychedelic Week and the power of plant medicine.
Background and Mission Behind Global Psychedelic Week
Radovic Mandic, originally from Serbia and now based in San Francisco, is a passionate advocate for expanding access to psychedelic resources and education. She explained that Global Psychedelic Week, running from November 3rd to 9th, was created to decentralize the global conversation around psychedelics, making it more accessible beyond traditional conferences that often require hefty travel and registration fees. The event will feature online panels on topics like community building, business, legacy, veterans’ issues, diversity, women, and the future of psychedelics in society, complemented by in-person gatherings worldwide—from India and Serbia to the Netherlands and the US.
Empowering Local Communities and Promoting Inclusivity
The initiative aims to empower local communities to organize their own events, fostering a truly global and inclusive dialogue. Radovic Mandic highlighted the importance of involving indigenous groups, underground practitioners, and marginalized communities to build a more equitable industry.
Personal Journey into Psychedelics and Healing
Her journey into psychedelics began recreationally with cannabis and mushrooms during her university years, which she discovered helped dissolve mental patterns and foster personal growth. She emphasized that psychedelics have significant healing potential, especially in treating PTSD, addiction, and neurodegenerative conditions like Alzheimer’s. Her own mother’s experience with microdosing gummies to combat Lewy body disease exemplified the positive impact plant medicine can have.
Extensive Travels and Broadening Perspectives
Radovic Mandic also shared her extensive travels across 70 countries, which broadened her perspective and fueled her passion for cultural exchange and open-mindedness. She studied management at the University of Belgrade and later co-founded a successful IT company before transitioning into the psychedelic space, founding Bizdelics to educate and support the community.
Vision for the Future of Psychedelic Integration
Looking ahead, she envisions a future where psychedelics are fully integrated into mainstream healthcare, with advances like at-home testing kits and personalized medicine. She stressed the importance of ongoing research on personality traits, noting that openness correlates with curiosity and willingness to explore substances.
Commitment to Accessibility, Education, and Compassion
Radovic Mandic expressed her commitment to making psychedelics accessible to all and emphasized the need for ongoing education, inclusivity, and compassion. She concluded with a reminder that everyone is a citizen of the world, urging kindness and understanding in our interconnected society.
