Quebec-based Mendo Cannabis continues to put industry craftspeople first with the announcement of the farmer-forward Mendo Pavilion at the upcoming Grow Up Conference and Expo to be held May 27-29 at the Delta Hotel by Marriott Toronto Airport Conference Centre in Toronto, Canada.
Since 2017, the Grow Up Conference has hosted Canada’s premiere B2B cannabis events focusing on cultivation, extraction, and psychedelics. This year’s Toronto event features some weed-friendly changes including ticket options for the general public as well as Grow Up’s Brands & Buyers Zone which offers opportunities for brand founders and farmers to connect directly with wholesale buyers and discerning consumers alike.
As Mendo Cannabis, a division of Médicibis, continues to add Canada’s most highly sought after brands and products to its nationwide wholesale and medical retail platforms, it is only natural that the company has committed to hosting a substantial space at the Grow Up Conference later this month. Their concept – dubbed the Mendo Pavilion – is so simple and selfless it seems like there has to be a catch. But anyone familiar with Mendo Medical and the way that they build real, personal relationships with the brands that they carry will see this move as right “on-brand” for this dedicated steward and distributor of over 100 thoughtfully selected cannabis companies.
So, what is the Mendo Pavilion?
Recognizing that the plant is always the star of the show, with the farmer or craftsperson who brings it to market serving in the Best Supporting role, Mendo Cannabis knows that the value that they bring to the market as well as to their own bottom line is rooted in those 100+ brands. The more those brands succeed, the more Mendo Cannabis succeeds. The more Mendo Cannabis succeeds, the more brands they can bring onboard and the more unique and highly effective opportunities like the Grow Up Conference and the Mendo Pavilion they can provide.
“This approach is about curating an experience that epitomizes excellence in cannabis,” says Jay Schwartz, the Chief Operating Officer at Mendo. He adds, “By focusing on our partners and connecting them with retail buyers, Mendo aims to create a community and foster connections that drive the industry forward, enhancing the overall event experience and celebrating the best of cannabis culture and innovation”.
The Mendo Pavilion will be an exhibitor space staffed and stuffed with some of Mendo Medical’s most successful brand partners, giving those folks the chance to step off the farm, or out of the lab or kitchen, and connect directly with retail buyers in a cordial and relaxed setting.
A full spectrum blend of purchasing managers and decision makers from the largest retail stores across Canada will roam the Grow Up Conference connecting directly with the passionate people behind the country’s top cannabis brands. These buyers will be looking to place orders and build relationships with bestsellers and up-and-comers in the cannabis space, and dozens of brands working with Mendo Medical will be represented in the Mendo Pavilion.
“The Pavilion is not just about showcasing products; it’s about building a sustainable community that helps all stakeholders thrive. The focus on partners allows for a diverse presentation of the industry’s top brands, fostering a richer engagement and networking opportunity for all attendees,” says Mark Shapiro, Mendo’s Chief Commercial Officer.
Perhaps the most exciting development in the evolution of the Grow Up Conference and Expo is the inclusion of a $30/day ticketing option for the general public on Day 3 of the event. This allows big biz to still go down on Day 1 & 2 in a strictly B2B (Business to Business) format, but also allows those same wholesale heavy hitters to hang back on Day 3 to see how the masses react to each brand. Hype will be on full display.

The Mendo Pavilion is Planting Seeds for Future Success
The Mendo Pavilion marks the beginning of a long term plan put in place by the minds at Mendo Medical to dedicate substantial resources and effort to elevate their top shelf roster of brand partners, rather than touting their own position or success in the industry.
It also marks the beginning of a continuing partnership with the team behind the Grow Up Conference and Expo, ensuring ongoing opportunities to show some love to the brands thriving under the Mendo Medical banner.
With a shared goal of building strong, long-lasting relationships, the Grow Up Conference & Expo and Mendo Cannabis are helping to merge grassroots cannabis culture with high level cannabis commerce in Canada and beyond.
