The Coachella Valley has long been a signature vacation destination in California. Just a short drive from both Los Angeles and San Diego, the fall season in the desert is defined by sunshine, warm breezes, and the perfect weather for outdoor activities.
This year, there are two opportunities with a cannabis twist to put on your cannabis-friendly travel calendar.
The first is in conjunction with Palm Springs Gay Pride 2023. On November 4th and 5th the Coachella Valley Cannabis Alliance Network (CVCAN) will participate in the Pride festivities with a booth that celebrates their member businesses while also honoring the LGBTQ+ history of pioneering cannabis legalization.
As part of the CVCAN Pride booth experience, attendees will discover how the LGBTQ+ community advocated for safe and legal cannabis access for HIV/AIDS patients. The cannabis industries of today, both medical and adult-use recreational, are a direct result of the HIV/AIDS patient activism that happened in the 1980’s and 1990’s under the leadership of gay pioneer Dennis Peron. Dennis Peron is known as “The Father of Medical Cannabis”, and he is credited with lighting the fire that is regarded as the origin of today’s global cannabis industries.

Two weeks later, on November 17, CVCAN host’s its first Putt & Puff tournament, at Shadow Mountain Golf Club. This will be an 18 hole putting event where teams will have the opportunity to win a $500 first prize purse.
The Putt and Puff event promises to be a wonderful morning of networking, socializing, learning about a variety of brands and meeting vendors. Sponsorships and golf spots are still available. Single play registration is $50, and sponsorships begin at $500.
Registrants will enjoy a Continental Breakfast, Cannabis Sponsors, swag bags, and a custom tournament hat. Registration starts at 8 am, and an Award Ceremony and Raffle will be held at 10 a.m. Register here.
For details regarding the golf tournament, send an email to Scott Rusczyk, President of CVCAN.
The Coachella Valley Cannabis Alliance Network (CVCAN) is the voice of the Coachella valley cannabis industry. CVCAN offers its members advocacy support, educational and networking opportunities, and visibility along with access to current industry trends.
