Strain Review: Strawberry Gary by Death Row Cannabis Makes You Feel the Way You Need to Feel

Death Row’s new mylar bags.

If you haven’t yet heard about the relaunch of Death Row Cannabis, put the blunt down for 2 minutes and take notes.

The relaunch of Death Row Record’s cannabis brand, which features several strains that straight smack, is curated by none other than Snoop Dogg himself.

Connoisseurs and heady bois alike may recognize one of the key figures behind the venture; legacy cultivator AK.

Who the F*ck is AK?

AK is best known for his work alongside his former partner Wizard Trees. He was responsible for sprouting, selecting, and growing some of the most sought-after strains.

Those strains happen to be Doja’s favorite ladies, including RS11, Studio 54, and Shirazi. All of which were developed in collaboration with exotic cannabis breeder DEO Farms aka Deep East.

In addition, AK is also the man behind the IYKYK brand SMKRS, which has become a favorite among cannabis enthusiasts for its high-quality products and unique strains.

As if this dude wasn’t established enough, AK is also the VP of Cultivation for TRP LLC.

TRP is known to insiders as “the other Cookies” due to their ownership of Cookies stores across the nation, including Florida.

The Death Row strains just happened to drop at TRP locations throughout LA a few weeks back, making this a real family affair.

Strain Review: Strawberry Gary for Death Row Cannabis

Strawberry Gary for Death Row Cannabis

A flavorful hybrid, the Strawberry Gary was bred by Exotic Genetix.

As most of Exotic Mike’s work does, this gal checks all the boxes. From nose, to bag appeal, to potency with its claimed 33% THC content.

The nose itself is incredibly fruity and gives off a sweet aroma that is reminiscent of strawberry shortcake.

While this girl might get labeled as hype weed, don’t let the dessert terps fool you. This strain commands respect compared to most Gelato re-brands.

Tasting exactly as it smells, the buds themselves are also on point, properly dense and sticky.

The high could be described as sedative and indica-leaning without the couch-lock, making it perfect for Los Angeles’ afternoon traffic jams.

The high also brings creative vibes with it. If we had to compare it, the Strawberry Gary reminds a lot of Superboof aka Blockberry.

Overall, the launch of Death Row Cannabis is an exciting development for the LA cannabis scene. AK’s involvement should demand immediate respect and bodes well for the success of the brand.
